The Snack Bar

This painting at Tate Britain made me happy. And a bit homesick too. Somehow it reminded me a lot of New York. A deli. A Ukrainian Deli. A specific one. Veselka, in fact. Remember these?

Unfortunately, the pic is too out of focus for me to tell who painted it. But it's gorgeous ain't it?

Triple-dot punctuation.

Hey, I'm back. Stubborness got the better of me, and after googling "tate britain counter lady sandwich painting" I can inform you it's by Edward Burra, painted in 1930, and titled as captioned. Enjoy!
