Monday night dinner with cheap spumante

Johan cooked a true feast for dinner, more fit for an over-indulgent Sunday evening than a godforsaken Monday night. Here's what he made: Oven-roasted Guinea fowl with fennel and onions, pan-roasted potatoes to soak up a sauce of white wine, green lentils and beets baked with garlic and balsamic vinegar, and finally, a side of fresh salad, which we were too full to finish.

We tend to joke around this house that we spend some 90% of our disposable income on food. Truth be told, I think it's more like 95%.

Money well spent, I say;O)
