Yesterday I was telling friends - and fellow Tokyo aficionados - about a ramen dinner Johan and I had at a quirky little place in Shinjuku, and figured that would be a perfectly bloggable Sunday story.
The restaurant (also a part of the chain Nagi) could only seat a total of 10 people at its counter and in order to secure a seat you had to ascend the steepest and narrowest of staircases to the second floor, place your order (using those godforsaken meal ticket automats), go down to the street again and wait for the chef to call your turn through this really low-fi tubing system (which you can see in the 2nd picture). It was wildly popular, so a neat little crowd of people were lining up during the 10 minutes we waited.
Oy, I'm really feeling the travel bug reminiscing that trip. Can't wait for summer vacation to start:O)
